Proper use of our logos

Trademark status and proper use

The RPGMotor Works name, the Rotor symbol and our product family names are some of our most valuable assets, and we protect them by using them the same way every time. A mark registered with a national trademark office takes the registered symbol (®). A mark we claim but have not yet registered takes the trademark symbol (™). Status differs by country and changes over time, so check the trademark register on this page before any piece goes to print or goes live.

Our legal team maintains the register and updates it as registrations are granted. If a product name isn't on the register, or you are naming something new, email brand@rpgmotor-works.com before you use it in public.

™ or ® on brochures

These marks are registered and take the ® symbol in customer materials:

• RPGMotor Works®
• RoboTorq®
• ServoPrime®
• eMotion®
• AeroX®
• DriveSense®
• MicroX®
• ConveyDrive®

All other product family names, including ServoXcel, InduCore, PumpMaster, HVAC ProDrive, GeoRotor, eMotion Light, CargoMax, WindTurn and MakerSeries, take the ™ symbol until legal confirms registration. Place the symbol on the first or most prominent use of a mark in a document, usually the headline or the first mention in body copy. You don't need to repeat it after that. Set it in superscript at about half the cap height, in the same color as the word it follows. Never add a symbol to a logo file yourself: the approved files already include one where it's needed.

Online, apply the same rule page by page: the first prominent mention on each page takes the symbol. Navigation labels, browser tab titles, alt text, file names and URLs never carry ® or ™.

Use a trademark as an adjective followed by a generic noun: "ServoPrime® servo motors," not "ServoPrimes." Never make a mark plural or possessive, and never change its spelling or capitalization to fit a sentence. eMotion keeps its lowercase e, even at the start of a sentence.

Clear space

Give the logo room to work. The minimum clear space on every side of the horizontal and vertical lockups equals the height of the navy hub in the Rotor symbol. No text, image, page edge, fold or other logo may enter that space, and more is always better. The same rule applies to the Rotor symbol on its own. Keep the horizontal lockup at least 25 mm or 120 px wide, and the Rotor alone at least 6 mm or 24 px.

File types and proper use

Every logo on this page comes in three formats. Choose by where the logo will appear, and never retype, redraw or rebuild a logo from a screenshot.

PNG

Raster format with a transparent background, for presentations, documents, email and social media. Supplied at 1x and 2x sizes. Don't enlarge a PNG beyond the size supplied.

EPS

Vector format for professional print, signage, vehicle graphics and trade show booths. Send EPS files to printers and fabricators, such as Kessler Druck.

SVG

Vector format for websites and apps. It scales without losing sharpness and keeps file sizes small. Use the files as supplied, without editing the code.

Horizontal or vertical lockups

The horizontal lockup is our primary logo and should be your first choice. Use the vertical lockup only where the space is square or taller than it is wide, such as a banner stand or a booth column.

The stand-alone Rotor symbol

The Rotor symbol may appear without the wordmark on app icons, favicons, machine hubs and other small spaces where the full logo won't fit. Use it alone only when the RPGMotor Works name appears elsewhere on the piece. Never rotate, recolor or redraw it.
